​Evelyn "Kahealani" Lee, Owner/Director of Operations and Community Collaborative of​​ E Hiki Mai Ana (NEXT) LLC formed to combat human trafficking on Hawai'i island. Teen violence and teen runaway has led to commercial sexual exploitation on children (CSEC). EHMA works collaboratively with community resources to find the root causes of child abuse and neglect and runaways.​

Speaking up after an abusive relationship is one of the scariest feelings. You start to create monsters in your brains. Will I be believed? Supported? Retaliated against? Will I lose my family and friends? Fear keeps victims silent and abusers free from accountability.

During an abusive relationship, victims live in survival mode. The effects of abuse doesn't stop just because your relationship ended. My life choices and experiences...mirrors those who survived.

Our kids....are our NEXT generation. Society often responds to abusive situations with actions that deepen our trauma and keep us silent.

Supporting Youth Healthcare and Wellness in Hawai'i County that focuses on trauma care and treatment: Monies raised through our community fundraisers will be donated to select nonprofit organizations serving youths on Hawai'i island to compensate, uncompensated healthcare and wellness which ensures every child victim of abuse and neglect, homelessness and commercial sexual exploitation is cared for regardless of an individual or family's ability to pay.
